Kishwar
Desai is the author of the bestselling books ‘Witness the Night’ and ‘Origins of Love’. In both her previous books,
she has taken inspirations from topical issues to build fast-paced thrillers. I
loved both her books.
I was
waiting eagerly for her third book: ‘The Sea of Innocence’
And
guess what? I also have 1 copy of the book for Giveaway.
Giveaway copy is sponsored by MySmartPrice Books. MySmartPrice

Goa,
south India. A beautiful holiday hideaway where hippies and backpackers while away
the hours. But beneath the clear blue skies lies a dirty secret…
Simran Singh is desperate for a break and some time away from her busy job as a social worker-come-crime investigator. And so the unspoilt idyll of Goa seems just the place - white beaches, blue seas and no crime.
But when a disturbing video appears on her phone, featuring a young girl being attacked by a group of men, she realises that a darkness festers at the heart of this supposed paradise. And when she discovers out that the girl is Liza Kay, a British teenager who has gone missing, she knows she must act in order to save her.
But first Simran must break through the web of lies and dark connections that flourish on these beaches. Everyone, it seems, knows what has happened to the girl but no one is prepared to say. And when more videos appear, and Simran herself is targeted in order to keep her quiet, the paradise soon becomes a living nightmare.

Hi, welcome to this blog and thank you for participating. Hope you have liked both the Facebook pages too for qualifying.
DeleteKishwar Desai's last 2 books have been fabulous page-turners, and I am sure she would have delivered in this one too. I will be reviewing it soon.

I bought ‘Witness the Night’ and ‘Origins of Love’, based on your review on this blog. I am half way through with Origins of Love... it is an eye opener for me about the surrogacy industry... can't wait to finish it!

Awww I am glad you loved the books. They are both absolute page-turners. 'Origins of Love' is still a fat book, which I finished very fast, may be in 2 days.
DeleteAnd I am glad you are participating :-)
I am in the race too... Haven't read any of the writer's previous work.. keen on this one...

Hey Manjulika, good to see you here. I am glad that you are participating. And if you have not read any of her previous books, highly recommend them. All three are based on women-centric issues and are pageturners. Though the books have independent stories, the main protagonist is the same in all three. It does not matter which book you read first.
DeleteThats nice, that I can start from any.. no sequels involved..
DeleteOkay, so I am in too... hope I get to win the book :) :)

DeleteHi. I love reading books but couldn't read anything for quite sometime due to my year old toddler. I want to start all over again. Books really build a world inside you. Some seem like your own story, a few other take pressures of you. All in all, they are a great reason to make life worthwhile. I so much miss reading...I have to start it soon .
ReplyDeleteEven I miss reading so much. I couldn't read anything good for quite sometime due to my year old toddler. But I really wish to get back to the world of books left unexplored.
ReplyDeleteI know how it feels to be itching to read a book but can't. But you must start. Read a page a day may be, but start somewhere and set a target, it really helps. Are you participating?
DeleteI am looking forward to reading all the three books...I hope I win at least this one! :-P
ReplyDeleteShaili, thank you so much for dropping in. I am glad I found another book blogger. I too hope you win :)
DeleteKishwar Desai's both previous novels are pageturners around topical women issues. Do read them. I have reviewed both of them on this blog.
I want to read but am skeptical about the subject. Did you finish reading the book?
ReplyDeleteHer previous two books were quite good. I have not read this book yet, was caught up in other books which I had to review. I am going to finish it pretty soon though, may be by this weekend.
DeleteMeanwhile, check out other reviews on their page: https://www.facebook.com/TheSeaOfInnocence?fref=ts
