After reading the book, I have also read several newspaper articles on Aruna Shanbaug's story, and everytime I am deeply moved by the efforts of KEM staff. What they are doing for her is beyond words, especially in this day and age. I am not too sure why Pinki Virani petitiond for 'mercy kiling' because Aruna Shanbaug does not appear to be brain dead. The concept of 'Mercy Killing' is way too sensitive, controversial and perceptual. Who will decide whether another individual should live or die? But most of all, I could not understand why Aruna's tormentor was never tried for rape.Reema Sahayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11287414476458432950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2225918068504302242.post-24081462536752718452011-03-09T04:20:53.973+05:302011-03-09T04:20:53.973+05:30http://www.aruna-shanbaug.blogspot.com/http://www.aruna-shanbaug.blogspot.com/mathasofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08427175005698738647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2225918068504302242.post-77816662882242497882010-05-31T18:31:11.161+05:302010-05-31T18:31:11.161+05:30Don’t know about ‘Deaf Heaven’ but don’t read ‘Bit...Don’t know about ‘Deaf Heaven’ but don’t read ‘Bitter Chocolate’ now. I have her third book “Once was Bombay” which is a collection of short stories. I had started the book but did not like it much at that point of time. But I am keen on “Deaf Heaven”, then will restart “Once was Bombay”. Right now, I am reading “Miracle in Andes” by Nando Parrando, an inspiring autobiographical book for a change.Reema Sahayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11287414476458432950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2225918068504302242.post-28209371793360059462010-05-30T18:12:59.033+05:302010-05-30T18:12:59.033+05:30This author really sounds incredible. Great that she is bringing attention to the shortcomings of the Laws, something that needs to be done all over the world.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18102250492155489672noreply@blogger.com
